Autopia
About this ride
Autopia cars follow a center guide rail through Tomorrowland's stylized landscape. The throttle works and is the only real control. The vehicles were updated during the 2024 refurbishment. Young children absolutely love the feeling of independence behind the wheel.
Best time to ride
First thing in the morning with young children, or during afternoon lulls when toddlers need something low-key.
Insider tips
- The cars bump the rail frequently — this is expected and not a malfunction.
- If you have a young child obsessed with cars, this becomes an A-tier experience for them.
- The wait is rarely long — good filler between higher-priority attractions.
What to know before you ride
- Occasional bumping against the center guide rail.
- Exhaust smell in enclosed sections.
- Otherwise completely safe and gentle.

Pirates of the Caribbean is the original Disney dark ride masterpiece — the one that set the template for everything that followed. Walt Disney himself oversaw its creation, and it opened in 1967 as the last attraction he personally supervised. You drift through moonlit bayous and into a chaotic port town under siege by buccaneers.
