TABLE SERVICE & FINE DINING

These restaurants require reservations — book 60 days out at exactly 7am through the Disneyland app. If you miss your window, check daily for cancellations, especially in the week before your visit.

#1 — Blue Bayou Restaurant

Location: New Orleans Square Price Range: $$$ ($35-$59.99 per adult entrée) Reservations: Required — 60 days out, book first Mickey Rating: 9.5/10 Best For: Adults, couples, special occasions, families who want the definitive Disneyland dining experience

THE EXPERIENCE: Blue Bayou takes you into perpetual twilight as the nighttime ambiance of the bayou surrounds you — overhead strings of colorful balloon lanterns cast an enchanting glow while crickets chirp, frogs croak, and fireflies wink in the dark. It opened on March 18, 1967, as the first reservation-based eatery at Disneyland — Walt Disney himself stated that in this restaurant the food was going to be the show, along with the atmosphere.

There is not a bad seat in the house — some tables sit under the canopy of moss-laden trees, some overlook the swampy banks of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, and most sit under the glow of painted paper lanterns.

WHAT TO ORDER:

  • Monte Cristo Sandwich — the legendary deep-fried, powdered sugar, raspberry jam masterpiece. Available at lunch only. The Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou is a full serving and is bigger than the Monte Cristo at nearby Cafe Orleans.

  • Market Fish ($46) — Pigeon Peas and Wilted Green Rice, Peanut Habanero, Herb Salad and Coconut Lime Beurre Blanc. Rotates seasonally but consistently excellent.

  • Roasted Chicken ($44) — Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Vegetables, Horseradish Cream, and Peppercorn Demi-glace. The most reliable entrée on the menu.

  • All entrées include sea salt and rosemary brioche bread service.

  • Crème Brûlée — the best crème brûlée in New Orleans Square. Do not skip dessert here.

  • Non-alcoholic Mint Julep and Louisiana Lemonade with souvenir glow cube — refillable, which makes them far better value than buying a single cup at the Mint Julep Bar.

  • Blue Bayou now offers wine, beer, and specialty cocktails including a Hurricane and seasonal offerings.

INSIDER TIPS: Always ask for a table by the water — even if the host says there will be a long wait, it often is not long at all and it is absolutely worth it. Request bayou-side when making your reservation and again at check-in. You can use mobile check-in through the Disneyland app and they will text you when your table is ready.

DIETARY: Vegetarian options available. Healthy selections noted on menu. Allergy-friendly items available — speak with your server.

2026 NOTE: Blue Bayou will temporarily close for refurbishment on May 4, 2026, and is tentatively scheduled to reopen in late May. The restaurant will offer a modified dining experience while Pirates of the Caribbean is also under refurbishment.

MY THOUGHTS: This is the meal you build a Disneyland trip around. Eating inside Pirates of the Caribbean in perpetual bayou twilight with the ride boats drifting past your table is one of the most genuinely unique dining experiences in the world — not just in theme parks, in the world. The Monte Cristo at lunch is mandatory. Book the day reservations open. Get a bayou-side table. Order the glow cube drink. This is Disneyland dining at its peak.

#2 — Cafe Orleans

Location: New Orleans Square Price Range: $$ ($15-$34.99 per adult entrée) Reservations: Recommended — easier to get than Blue Bayou Mickey Rating: 9/10 Best For: All ages, adults who want Blue Bayou atmosphere at better value, families

THE EXPERIENCE: The outdoor ambiance of this New Orleans-inspired restaurant makes it a consistent favorite — watch the Mark Twain Riverboat glide past, listen to live music passing by, all while enjoying some of the most iconic Disney food items. Sitting outside at Cafe Orleans as the sun starts to set is a quintessential Disneyland moment.

WHAT TO ORDER:

  • Monte Cristo Sandwich — same iconic dish as Blue Bayou, slightly smaller portion, lower price. Available at both lunch and dinner.

  • Pommes Frites — delicious Pommes Frites you cannot get anywhere else in the park. The signature side dish of New Orleans Square. Get them.

  • Beignets — French Quarter classic, fresh and hot with powdered sugar. One of the must-eat items in the entire park.

  • Mint Julep — non-alcoholic Southern staple. Cafe Orleans also has Monte Cristo and Mint Julep, making it a near-identical experience to Blue Bayou at a fraction of the wait and cost.

  • Fantasmic! Dining Package — Blue Bayou used to offer a Fantasmic! Dining Package but it ended in January 2025 and a new package is now available at Cafe Orleans. If you want reserved Fantasmic! viewing, this is the place to book.

INSIDER TIPS: Entrees are typically around $25 and some of the food is the same as what is served at Blue Bayou — the value is genuinely there at Cafe Orleans. If you cannot get a Blue Bayou reservation, Cafe Orleans is not a consolation prize — it is a genuinely excellent meal in a beautiful outdoor setting that many regulars actually prefer.

DIETARY: Vegetarian options available. Allergy-friendly items available on request.

MY THOUGHTS: Cafe Orleans is my secret weapon recommendation for guests who could not get a Blue Bayou reservation or who want the Monte Cristo experience without the fine-dining price tag. The outdoor seating along the waterway with the Mark Twain gliding past is genuinely magical. The Pommes Frites are extraordinary. The Beignets are among the best things you will eat at Disneyland. And the Fantasmic! dining package makes this the smartest reservation in the park for evening visitors.

#3 — Carnation Cafe

Location: Main Street U.S.A. Price Range: $$ ($15-$34.99 per adult entrée) Reservations: Recommended for dinner, walk-up often available for breakfast and lunch Mickey Rating: 8/10 Best For: All ages, breakfast lovers, guests who want American comfort food with table service

THE EXPERIENCE: Carnation Cafe is a classic Main Street institution featuring classic American comfort food dishes as well as some of Walt's favorites. Indoor and outdoor seating with a warm, Victorian Main Street atmosphere. Sitting outside gives you a view of Main Street and there is just a good energy to the restaurant — warm and comforting, much like the food that is served there.

WHAT TO ORDER:

  • Mickey Waffles at breakfast — the standout item, especially notable value if adults order the kids portion.

  • Walt's Chili-Cheese Omelet — cheese omelet topped with chili, cheese, and chives served with breakfast potatoes. A nod to Walt's personal favorites.

  • Braised Short Rib ($25) — with house-made mac and cheese and seasonal vegetables. The most impressive dinner entrée on the menu.

  • Fresh Catch of the Day ($24) — sustainable fish with seasonal sides. When salmon is served the cook on it is perfect, adding just a little bit of crispiness.

  • Walt's Chili ($12) — hearty chili topped with cheese, sour cream, chives, and a cornbread garnish. One of the best value items at any table service restaurant in the park.

  • Guacamole Burger ($21) — Angus Chuck Patty, Monterey Jack, house-made guacamole, grilled onion and lettuce on a brioche bun.

  • Baked Potato Soup ($11) — topped with fried potato, bacon, cheddar, Monterey Jack, sour cream, and chives.

  • Rum Punch cocktail — Bacardi Superior Rum, Myers's Rum Original Dark, pineapple, orange, and lime juices with grenadine. A new 2026 addition.

DIETARY: Hearty Veggie Burger — house-made bean patty, vine-ripened tomato, chipotle mayo and slaw on an artisan bun ($21). Plant-based brownie with chocolate sauce ($10).

MY THOUGHTS: With the most expensive dinner option at $26 and most entrées around $20, Carnation Cafe essentially offers counter-service prices with table-service experience. That value proposition is almost unmatched in Disneyland dining. Breakfast here with outdoor Main Street seating and a Mickey Waffle is one of my favorite morning rituals in the park. Book the outdoor patio at dinner and watch Main Street light up as the evening begins.

#4 — River Belle Terrace

Location: Frontierland Price Range: $$ ($15-$34.99 per adult entrée) Reservations: Recommended Mickey Rating: 8/10 Best For: All ages, families, guests who want Southern comfort food with exceptional views

THE EXPERIENCE: River Belle Terrace in Frontierland features a view of the Rivers of America and Southern-inspired cuisine for lunch and dinner. The outdoor terrace overlooking the Rivers of America with the Mark Twain and Columbia sailing past is one of the most scenic dining spots in the park.

WHAT TO ORDER:

  • Southern Fried Chicken — the signature dish. Herb-crusted, crispy, served with classic sides. Consistently the most-ordered item.

  • Buttermilk Pancakes at brunch — a Disneyland institution. Light, fluffy, and enormous.

  • Jambalaya — rich, deeply flavored Cajun classic. One of the best versions of this dish anywhere in the park.

  • Pot Roast — slow-braised, fork-tender. Perfect for cooler evening visits.

  • Seasonal cocktails including new margarita and specialty drinks added in recent menu updates.

INSIDER TIPS: The outdoor terrace tables facing the river are the most sought-after seats in the restaurant. Request a riverfront table specifically when checking in. Evening visits when the river is lit and the Mark Twain is running are dramatically better than midday. The Paint the Night Dining Package is available here for reserved parade viewing.

DIETARY: Vegetarian options available. Seasonal plant-based additions rotate throughout the year.

MY THOUGHTS: River Belle Terrace is the most scenically situated table service restaurant in Disneyland. The combination of Southern comfort food, the river view, and the ambient sound of Frontierland creates an atmosphere that rewards guests who seek it out. It is consistently underbooked compared to Blue Bayou and Cafe Orleans — making reservations easier to secure while delivering an experience that rivals both.
